The Philadelphia Opera Company has given its debut performance of ‘Silent Night’ (8th February 2013) – an opera about the informal ‘Christmas Truce’ on the Western Front in 1914.
The opera is based around the events of December 1914, when British and French troops and enemy German forces, made an informal ‘Christmas Truce’.
The opera is sung in several European languages.
‘Silent Night’ has received critical acclaim and is being staged at the Academy of Music in Philadelphia, USA.
