Scottish MSPs argue for HLF funding bids

Date of publication: November 2011

A number of MSPs in Scotland are urging their communities to think ahead to the 2014-2018 Centenary. The public are being urged to consider Heritage Lottery Fund grants available to support their plans.

Graeme Dey, MSP for Angus South, Stirling MP Anne McGuire and Paul Wheelhouse SNP MSP for the South of Scotland have all praised the HLF Initiative that is offering grants to local groups wanting to commemorate the First World War. Featured in local newspapers, the MSPs want the Centenary in Scotland to, as Graeme Dey states, “remember the great sacrifice entire generations gave in order to preserve the freedoms we take for granted today.”
