Oklahoma recognises role of First World War Chocktaw Code Talkers as stretch of highway is renamed

NewsOK reports that a stretch of highway in Oklahoma, USA, will be renamed in honour of Native Americans who fought for America during the First World War.

The “Chocktaw Code Talkers” stretch – near to where many of the men lived – recognises the contribution of a group of Choktaw Indians whose native tongues were used to send messages securely along the American front line.
