Oh! What A Lovely War

Vincent Dowd has written an article in the BBC News Magazine about the origins of the stage show ‘Oh! What a Lovely War’. What had started as a BBC radio script ended up being a long-running satirical hit in a theatre in Stratford, East London. The show’s creator Charles Chilton had the idea after an unsuccessful search for the grave of his WW1-serving Father in France.
