New Zealand Dance Company to present ‘Rotunda’ for Anzac Centenary

The New Zealand Dance Company is producing Rotunda, a piece of work to coincide with the Anzac Centenary.

Rotunda is The New Zealand Dance Company’s first full-length work directed by Artistic Director Shona McCullagh.

Produced in preparation for the ANZAC Centenary, “the performers’ journeys go to the heart of change and crisis, where courage and compassion are illuminated by a haunting, jaunty and deeply felt score”.

Ms.McCullagh said that the piece would mark “100 years since New Zealand’s involvement in the First World War and commemorate those who have fought and served in all wars, conflicts and peace operations over this time. We wanted to honour the themes of loyalty, courage, loss and hope with a contemporary work that will touch a wide audience”.
