Irish Embassy in Belgium launches First World War Centenary programme

The Ambassador of Ireland to the Kingdom of Belgium, Eamonn Mac Aodha, will host a reception today – 4th December 2013 – launching the Embassy of Ireland’s First World War Centenary programme.

Irish actor Gavin Drea will give a performance at the reception inspired by letters sent from Irish soldiers based in Belgium during the conflict.

Irish music group Celticanto will perform from “their repetoire of traditional Irish music, Irish song adapted to the operatic bel canto style”.
