The Hindustan Times publishes an article assessing India’s contribution to the First World War and how it is perceived in the 21st century.

“True, this was not our war but we can be proud of our contribution in the worldwide struggle against tyranny and oppression and for truth, justice and liberty. As the world prepares to commemorate the centenary of the war’s beginning next year we must come to terms with our colonial past and ensure that we are not left out”.
