The German History Museum in Berlin has an exhibition that shows Germany 1914-1918 in artefacts and pictures.
Based in Berlin, the Museum details Germany’s lead up to WW1 from the Second German Empire to the rise of the Weimar Republic (besides this the Museum holds multiple exhibitions on Germany’s experience on conflicts from the Roman right up to Reunification in 1990).
Through artefacts and pictures the museum documents in an interesting way the troubles facing Germany in the lead up to war, amongst which were the opposition of ‘agrarian, industrial and middle class’ interests to the social democratisation of the Imperial state. This, mixed with growing Nationalism and a growing drive for economic and territorial expansion, led the country to war in 1914.
