InSerbia News reports that a group of Serbian historians have stated that Gavrilo Princip was “not a terrorist” and attempts should not be made to “blame” Serbia for the outbreak of the First World War.
Professor Suzana Rajic of Faculty of Philosophy in Belgrade, stated:
“What Gavrilo Princip did in Sarajevo in 1914 was just one of the waves of these events that flooded Europe in the late 19th and early 20th century. All these assassins are qualified as anarchists or anarchist supporters. The title terrorist is not adequate for all assassins, and not even for Princip. He was 17 at the time, a high school boy, he did not have time to become a terrorist. He was under influence of the anarchist tendencies and opinions”.
