Britain’s Sandhurst Military Academy renames First World War hall

The Daily Mail has reported that Britain’s Sandhurst Military Academy has renamed its sports hall – ‘The Mons Hall’ – after a donation from the King of Bahrain.

The move has attracted controversy, as the hall is named in honour of British soldiers who fought at the Battle of Mons in 1914. The hall is to be renamed ‘The King Hamad Hall’ after a £3 million donation from the Bahrani king.
