African Soldiers During World War One

This article on the UK Philosopher’s Tree Blog provides pictures and information about the African contribution to World War One. It contains rarely seen colour photographs of Senegalese and Algerian soldiers. Between 1914 and 1918, some 500,000 labourers and troops were deployed by French and British forces.
