The Sunday Telegraph’s ‘Lest We Forget’ campaign has resulted in Heritage groups and the Government coming together to work to save the nation’s war memorials. They have agreed to take action to preserve the memorials ahead of the 2014 anniversary of the start of World War One.
The campaign called for more National Lottery funds to be spent on repairing memorials and put pressure on the authorities to bring in safeguards to protect memorials from development.
