1914.org

1914.org has been created by the Imperial War Museum to provide information on its forthcoming Centenary programme.

The following information has been taken from the IWM website:

“The IWM is planning a programme to mark the centenary of the war and anniversary of the Museum with a number of events. It will be opening new permanent First World War galleries at IWM London, a temporary exhibition at IWM North, learning activities in all branches, family history events, loans to other museums and institutions, performances, broadcasting, retail products, publications and digital outputs. Several of these activities will be produced in partnership with other national andinternational organisations.

The IWM has also launched the First World War Centenary Partnership, an initiative for any national and international organisation that will be commemorating the occasion. Through the partnership, colleagues from a variety of sectors have the opportunity to communicate with each other, share and combine resources, cooperate and co-develop products and services that complement each other so that under the First World War Centenary mark they can develop a co-ordinated, comprehensive cultural and educational offer for the public.

The IWMs First World War Centenary team will manage the Centenary Partnerships extranet until 2018 and will communicate partners programmes and events as part of the overall Centenary Programme.”
