Leeds City Museum will host a seminar in September 2013 for groups and institutions which are planning to commemorate the Centenary of the First World War in Yorkshire.
Those planning any “commemoration events, exhibitions, projects or resources” to mark the 100 year anniversary are invited to attend in order “to build up a local and regional picture of the activities that will be happening and provide an opportunity for interested parties to link up with others participating in this commemoration”.
The seminar is described as “informal” and welcomes all types of groups to attend, regardless of the scale of their plans or at what stage of development they are at.
Leeds Museums and Galleries, Leeds Library Service, The University of Leeds, Thackray Medical Museum and York Museums Trust are some of the institutions which are attending the seminar and will share details of their own plans to mark the Centenary.
Leeds City Museum has said those attending will have a “ten minute slot” to highlight their plans.
The seminar will take place on the 4th September 2013.
To attend the seminar, contact Helen (Helen.langwick@leeds.gov.uk or on 0113 33 67394) by the 23rd August 2013.
