The York Castle Museum in the UK has learned that the Heritage Lottery Fund is giving it initial support for its plans for a Centenary Exhibition.
The York Museums Trust plans for a 2.4 million revamp of the Museum and a five-year WW1 exhibition called ‘When The World Changed Forever’.
A Trust spokesman said it would be “one of the largest learning projects ever” and would create 500 volunteering opportunities. The York Castle Museum has received 73,000 to help further its plans and will apply for a full grant at a later date.
