The ‘We Were Brothers’ Project is a youth project that commemorates the heritage of Unionist and Nationalist soldiers serving side by side in WW1.
The project won a National Lottery Heritage Fund Award in 2011 and comprises a play, DVD, book and interactive website. It commemorates the cooperation and unity of the Ulster Battalions alongside the Irish Volunteers serving in the British Army in WW1 despite their religious and differences in national identity and affiliation.
