A phtographic exhibition focusing on colonial troops during the First World War has been made available online.
The images are part of an exhibition and conference held at the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh, in February 2014, enitled War and Colonies 1914-1918.
The exhibition features images sourced from the French Ministry of Defence, German Historical Museum and the Ulster Museum.
The producer and curator of the exhibition, Olivier Litvine, was interviewed by Centenary News about the project, where he stated that he believed the colonial aspect of the First World War was “often forgotten”.
He also said that the exhibition is “no Spielberg exhibition… just the faces and postures of real men fighting a dirty war”.
