Verdun Centenary – Commemorations marking start of 1916 battle

Ceremonies at Verdun on February 21st 2016 remember the start of the 10-month battle between the French and German armies in 1916.

They include an early morning historical re-enactment in the Bois de Caures, mass at Douaumont Ossuary and the reopening of the Verdun Memorial Museum.
