The Zeppelin and Garrison Museum, Denmark

For anyone visiting Denmark, this museum offers an insight into a previous German Zeppelin airbase.

Tnder, in Denmark, was part of Germany between 1864 and 1920. During WW1, the German Imperial Navy operated their Zeppelin airships from a base just outside the city that had its own gas plants, heating central and waterworks. On July 19th, 1918, the British Royal Navy launched its first ever successful air raid on the base from one of its aircraft carriers. Bomb remains from this event can be seen at the museum as well as exhibitions on the history of the base, the Zeppelin and the base’s Garrison history.
