Bonhams Fine Art Auctioneers & Valuers is to auction a revised manuscript of Doyle’s wartime poem, ‘Ypres September 1915’.
Bonhams describes the lot as “signed (‘Arthur Conan Doyle’), 85 lines in seventeen five-line stanzas, with twenty-five autograph verbal revisions preserving reconsidered readings, 4 pages, quarto (one a half-page), pinned in the upper left-hand corner, trace of paper clip, dated 10 October [1915]”.
A value of £1,500 – £2,000 has been placed on the lot, which is to be sold on 10th April 2013.
