A monument to Welsh soldiers who died in the First World War in Flanders was unveiled on August 16th in Langemark in Belgium.
The memorial, a red dragon on top of stones, was unveiled by Wales’s First Minister Carwyn Jones.
It is estimated 40,000 men from Wales died during the First World War.
The Memorial in Flanders Campaign Group had campaigned for the memorial.
The group’s campaign co-ordinator Peter Carter-Jones told Centenary News: “This memorial has been created for the ordinary people of Wales, millions of whom have probably lost a family member in the first world war. Welsh people not yet born will in the future visit and be reminded of the sacrifice made.”
