Portuguese Universidade Nova de Lisboa hosts ‘War and Propaganda in the Twentieth Century’ conference

The Portuguese Instituto de História Contemporânea at Universidade Nova de Lisboa, is to host a conference exploring the role of propaganda in twentieth century conflict, and has made a call for papers.

The conference will explore the First World War as it “was the first conflict where the States realized for the first time the importance of propaganda as an instrument of war”, alongside later conflicts.

The conference will take place at the Faculdade de Ciências Sociais e Humanas, Universidade Nova de Lisboa.

The conference will take place on 11th-12th November 2013.
