The Order of the First World War aims to preserve the memory of WW1 in American society and culture.
It states on its websites that its aims are, “patriotic, historical, and educational, and shall include those intended or designed to perpetuate the memory of those men and women who rendered honorable service for their country, to promote fellowship among their descendants; to inspire them and the community-at-large with a more profound reverence for the heritage, deeds, and memory of our ancestors.”
The society is of interest to anyone in the US planning to mark the Centenary of WW1 as it provides links to resources, articles, events and many resources. The society is open to anyone whose relatives served in units from the US, Allied or Central Powers.
