NZ On Air has awarded Maori Television a contract for the live television coverage of the Anzac Day 2015 commemorative service at Chunuk Bair in Turkey.
The 25th April 2015 will mark the Centenary of the start of the Gallipoli campaign.
Last year, in association with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, NZ On Air began accepting proposals from those interested in providing a live television broadcast from the New Zealand commemorative service to be held at Chunuk Bair on Anzac Day 2015.
NZ On Air Chief Executive, Jane Wrightson, said Maori Television’s successful bid was an “excellent outcome” that “will ensure New Zealanders have free live coverage of a service that remembers events and people who have shaped our nation”.
A live feed of the service (without Maori Television’s commentary) will be available to other broadcasters and online media.
Maori Television will also provide coverage from the 2014 service at Chunuk Bair.
