Minister Assisting the Prime Minister for the Centenary of Anzac, Senator Michael Ronaldson, has been announced that a new five member board will oversee the operation of Australia’s Anzac Centenary Public Fund.
The role of the board will be to assess Centenary projects and make recommendations to the Government about funding for them from the Public Fund.
Senator Ronaldson announced the appointments to the board earlier this month:
Gary Humphries, who is a former senator and Chief Minister of the Australian Capital Territory, was named as Chairman.
Hon Con Sciacca AO, who delivered the 1995 Australia Remembers programme and was involved in the commemorations to mark 50th anniversary of the end of the Secondt World War, has been made Deputy Chair.
Angus Houston, Air Chief Marshal (Ret’d), the Secretary of Finance, David Tune and the Secretary of Veterans’ Affairs, Simon Lewis, will also serve on the board.
Anzac Centenary Minister Ronaldson said that he was “looking forward” to working with the Anzac Centenary Public Fund in order to deliver the government’s Centenary programme.
