The National World War I Museum, Kansas City, USA, has named Matthew C. Naylor, PhD, as its new President and CEO.
Mr. Naylor, a native of Australia, has 20 years of experience in the “non-profit arena”, and recently served as Director of Advancement for the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art in Kansas City.
Mr. Naylor will begin his new role on 17th June 2013.
Mary D. Cohen, PhD, Chair of the Museum’s Board of Directors and interim CEO expressed that the National World War I Museum is “very fortunate to have found an executive with extensive experience, one who is part of the Kansas City community yet has global connections”.
“Matt is the ideal leader to take this organisation through the World War I centennial events, to create and articulate our ongoing vision, and to showcase the Museum globally”.
Speaking of his appointment, Mr. Naylor stated that he felt “privileged to become part of the National World War I Museum at this significant juncture in its history”.
