Memorial University, Newfoundland, Canada

Memorial University in Newfoundland, Canada, is a “living memorial to those who fought and died in the First World War”.

It was established in 1925, honoring those Newfoundlanders who died in the First World War.

“As the 100th anniversary of the beginning of the First World War approaches in 2014, the university is making plans to commemorate this significant period in our history. As the province’s university, Memorial is seeking input on its potential commemorative remembrance activities during 2014-2018”.
