The Royal Star & Garter Homes is organising a five day trek from London to Ypres Salient to mark the Centenary of the outbreak of the First World War.
The charity was established in 1916 to provide care for severely injured men returning to Britain from the battlegrounds of the First World War. It now provides care for disabled ex-service men and women and their families.
The five day, four night trek aims to “provide a unique perspective as we walk between the prominent battle-sites of the Ypres Salient, often tracing the line of the Western Front itself”.
The trek will begin on the 17th September 2014 and finish on the 21st September.
The Royal Star & Garter Homes describes the endeavour as “a poignant experience as well as a physical challenge”.
