A collection of items belonging to Admiral Sir John Jellicoe, British commander at the Battle of Jutland, will go on display as part of the National Museum of the Royal Navy’s centenary exhibition in Portsmouth.
The Admiral’s full naval dress uniform and his medals are among the items lent by his grandson, Nick Jellicoe.
A telescope presented on his promotion to captain in 1897 and possibly used at Jutland, is also part of the collection.
The collection will form part of the National Museum of the Royal Navy’s latest First World War exhibition – 36 Hours: Jutland 1916, The Battle That Won The War.
