Germany’s youth “wants to learn more about the First World War”

Deutsche Welle reports that an increasing number of people under the age of 30 in Germany – as much as 77% – would like to know more about the First World War, but the subject is “neglected” in schools.

Psychologist Carlos Kölbl, who researches the historical consciousness of young people and Ulrich Bongertman, President of the VDG-German History Teacher Association, offer their opinions on the growing interest.
