Queen Elizabeth and senior members of the Royal Family are to attend ceremonies on April 25th 2015 marking the 100th anniversary of the Gallipoli campaign and Anzac Day.
The Queen will be present at a wreath-laying ceremony at the Cenotaph in London, Buckingham Palace announced.
She will be accompanied by the Duke of Edinburgh and Prince William.
Descendants of those who fought on the Gallipoli peninisula in 1915 have been invited to play a central role in the event, organised by the British Government in collaboration with Australia and New Zealand.
The Prince of Wales and his younger son, Prince Harry, will travel to Turkey for the Gallipoli commemorations taking place on April 24th and 25th.
It’s also been announced that the Duke of Edinburgh, as Patron of the Gallipoli Association, will attend a wreath-laying service at St. Paul’s Cathedral, London, on April 25th.
The Princess Royal, accompanied by her husband, Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence, will attend the Centenary Dawn Service at Wellington Arch on Anzac Day.
Australian and New Zealand dead of both world wars are remembered on memorials at the Hyde Park Corner site in Central London.
