Fritt Ord Foundation plans to mark First World War Centenary in Norway

The Fritt Ord Foundation is planning a programme of events to mark the Centenary of the First World War, with a series of lectures having been held in November 2013.

The lectures were held at House of Literature (Litteraturhuset), Oslo, on Saturday 23rd November.

Patrcik Salmon – Scandinavia and the Outbreak of the First World War

Commemorative programme

The Frit Ord Foundation is planning two additional weekend events, one on 8th and 9th of February 2014, and one on 8th and 9th of March 2014.

For the event in February, predominantly Scandinavian writers and researchers are being invited by the Foundation to discuss the conflict.

In March another event will take place with guest speakers including Jay Winter, Keith Jeffrey, Thomas Boghardt, David Stevenson, David Welch, Mark Connelly, Michael Paris, Pierre Purseigle, Edward Madigan and Ola Teige.
