RTBF reports that the former prime minster of Belgium, Yves Leterme, has revealed more details about plans to commemorate the Centenary of the First World War in the Tour de France 2014.
A stage of the Tour will begin in Ypres, Mr. Leterme revealed. The mayor of Ypres, Jan Durnez, stated that the area would provide a “fitting setting” for the Tour due to its links with the First World War, as well as a “beautiful setting”, which he expects will “delight” many.
