Memorial events are being held in Belgium today to mark the start of the First World War. The main events are in Liège and at the St Symphorien Military Cemetery near Mons.
They will be attended by heads of state from around Europe, members of royal families, and relatives of those who died in the war.
The events in Liege will be hosted by Belgium’s King Philippe.
Centenary News is attending the events, and will post updates from both Liège and Mons.
