The Canberra Times has reported that the new Director of the Australian War Memorial, Brendan Nelson, may clash with veterans over adding the names of peacekeepers to the memorial.
Mr Nelson has indicated his support for adding the names of peacekeepers to the memorial, although a petition calling for this was rejected in November 2012 by the memorial’s governing council.
The debate is likely to generate controversy as arguments both for and against the move gain momentum.
