The Department of Education is jointly funding a 5.3 million project to provide a minimum of two pupils and one teacher from every state-funded secondary school in England the opportunity to visit a Western Front Battlefield. The other funder is the Department for Communities and Local Government. The tours are expected to take place between the spring of 2014 and March 2019.
