CWGC Centenary – Ballot for Westminster Abbey service

The Commonwealth War Graves Commission has announced a public ballot for a limited number of tickets to attend its Centenary thanksgiving service at Westminster Abbey, London, on 23 May 2017.

Founded during the First World War in May 1917, CWGC has grown into a global operation commemorating 1.7 million men and women of both world wars at 23,000 sites in more than 150 countries.

The Thanksgiving Service is designed to be non-denominational, CWGC says, reflecting the cultures of its six partner nations, and all of the countries where it operates.

It will include a Maori choir and the dedication of a new volume of the Civilian War Dead Roll of Honour 1939-1945.

The closing date for the public ticket ballot is May 9. For details of how to enter, see the CWGC website.
