Châteaudun prepares for the Centenary

L’Echo Republicain reports on how Chteaudun (a small town to the west of Paris) is planning to commemorate the Centenary of the First World War.

Among the projects under development is a plan to put together a department-wide exhibition including letters, photographs and personal items belonging to those involved in the conflict. This will also draw on objects and memorabilia from other towns and cities in the region, including Chartres, Dreux and Nogent-Le Rotrou.

Local leaders add that, as witnesses to the conflict have now disappeared, such an exhibition will help preserve memories of the First World War.
