Cartoons
The 19th edition of the Rendez-vous de la Bane Dessinée d’Amines will examine how the First World War has been depicted in cartoons.
The three day event (6th-8th June 2014) will see professionals and enthusiasts explore works related to the conflict.
Photograph competition
The Museum of Military History in Vienna is holding a photographic competition based on the theme of the First World War.
Participants are invited to send three photographs on the idea of ‘witnesses’ to the First World War.
Kuala Lumpur
The Institute of Malaysian and International Studies and the National University of Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur, are organising an international Centenary conferene.
It aims to revist the conflict and its histroiography and will be structured around a series of themes and panels. It will be held from the 6th-8th August 2014.
British soldier statue
A statue of a British soldier from the First World War has been installed on Seaham seafront in County Durham, England.
The nine foot statue was created by local artist Ray Lonsdale.
