The British Library will work with Europeana Collections (see our Education Section for more information on Europeana) to collate a substantial collection of WW1 material from Europe by 2014.
Collections will source material from eight countries across Europe and will offer a unique insight into the different national perspectives that were held on the Continent during the First World War.
The three-year project will make over 400,000 WW1 sources publicly and freely available online and will include texts rarely seen due to their deteriorating condition. The British Library will be contributing to the Project run by Europeana, Oxford University and also the German National Library.
