The Telegraph reports that Britain has privately told France to refrain from displaying the EU flag during Centenary commemorations.
Senior British sources have said that the Centenary of the First World War “should not be about EU politics”. This comes at a time when the British Prime Minister is under pressure to renegotiate the UK’s relationship with the European Union.
