Britain may honour German war dead

Date of publication: 20/01/2013

The British Press has reported that the names of German war dead may be displayed during Britain’s official commemorations of the First World War.

The Sunday Times and The Daily Mail have drawn attention to the fact that the names of German war dead could be projected onto the Cenotaph, a memorial which is central to state Remembrance services in Britain, next to the names of British war dead.

The British Government has not stated that the proposal has any official endorsement, but it has received some support both in Britain and abroad.
