Bankfield Museum, Halifax, England, has been awarded a £98,800 grant by the Heritage Lottery Fund for a project to commemorate the anniversary of the First World War.
A ‘Great War Gallery’ will be installed at the museum which will “explore this global event, highlighting the personal stories of people from Calderdale, both military and civilian, and the effect on the local area”.
The new gallery will open in the Summer of 2014.
