Australian War Memorial to open ‘ANZAC Voices’ exhibition

The Australian War Memorial’s new First World War exhibition – Anzac Voices – opens on the 29th November 2013.

The exhibition will feature primary sources from the conflict including diaries, postcards and letters, with the aim of providing “a rare opportunity to view original accounts of the First World War”.

The Australian War Memorial has highlighted the “challenge in curating ANZAC Voices has been to bring many different views and perspectives together to form a story of the war”.

As such, the exhibition aims to “reflect the broad experiences of Australians who served – servicemen of all ranks, a nurse and indigenous Australians during the First World War”.

Amongst documents on display will be the original diaries of Charles Bean – Australia’s Official correspondent throughout the First World War.
