Article: ‘When Bombs Fell on Freiburg 100 Years Ago’

The centenary of an Allied air raid on the German city of Freiburg in October 1916 is marked with an article in the Badische Zeitung.

The newsaper says it’s often forgotten that Freiburg, a university city in the Black Forest, was one of the most bombed towns in Germany during the First World War because of its proximity to the Western Front and use as a military garrison.
