This exhibition, which will open in October of this year, highlights artifacts found on the Alsace Lorraine front. The goal of this archaeologically-based endeavour will be to bring a new understanding of the conflict, through objects used on the front and in everyday life.
The curator, Michaël Landoldt declares:
“The exhibition sets out to make an initial assessment of this research and will present a wide selection of the obkects unearthed on sites both in Alsace and in Lorraine, as well as constructions and lauouts investigated by archaeologists on or behind the front lines. It will also deal with a host of historical and archaeological issues, using a widely multidisciplinary approach, with illustrations from over twenty sites so far excavated in Alsace and Lorraine.”
