In Canada, the Vimy Foundation is to mark the Centenary of the Battle of Arras and Capture of Vimy Ridge.

On April 9th 1917, the Canadian Corps made a significant move in the war when they captured Vimy Ridge allowing the British troops (alongside Canadians, New Zealanders, Australians and Newfoundlanders) to make advances in the renowned Battle of Arras.

The Vimy Foundation is planning to mark the Centenary of Vimy Ridge with events in Canada and Northern France including conferences and exhibitions, fireworks, youth-oriented activities and cultural events, “celebrating Franco-Canadian friendship and Canadian culture”.
