How America Remembers World War One

Date of publication: 06/04/2012

A report by the BBC has looked at how America remembers the First World War.

In particular, it addresses the American conception of the First World War compared to later wars, such as WWII and Vietnam, which saw a far greater level of American participation. It picks up on the clash over the site of the official memorial, and fears that as the centenary of the war arrives, it is struggling to retain a place of importance in the countrys collective memory.
