As a result of a severe winter in Turkey, remains of what are thought to be Turkish soldiers buried at the southeastern end of the Gallipoli Peninsula have been uncovered. According to the report, the Turkish Gallipoli National Park management believe that the location was a Turkish field hospital during the war. Wounded soldiers were brought to the hospital and those who did not survive were buried nearby.
