The Beyond the 1914-1918 Centenary initiative has organised a series of European lectures, the next to be held in Brussels.
The lecture, ‘From the First World War to 9/11: Propaganda and untruthfulness in our time’ aims to bridge the gap between the history of the First World War and the modern day.
The Beyond the 1914-1918 Centenary intitiative states that the lecture will provide an opportunity to “understand the causes of WWI”, which is a “prerequisite for a deeper insight into present-day geopolitics”.
Beyond the 1914-1918 Centenary “sponsors initiatives and projects for a remembrance culture and social transformation”.
“Through seminars, media and lecture series, videos and movies, as well as annual conferences and expositions it [the Beyond the 1914-1918 Centenary] will explore both general themes and individual experiences to commemorate the generation lost during the Great War”.
The lecture will be held in Brussels on Monday 10th June 2013.
